In my role of party entertainer (and prior to that corporate employee), I have attended countless such events. Here are some observations, tips, and ideas I picked up along the way.

General Considerations

Like any other type of event, you need to decide what you want your picnic to be like and how much you want to spend.

As with any event, it is important to keep the needs and tastes of your attendees paramount.

Allow yourself sufficient time to book your venue if the picnic is offsite. Demand for some venues is at a premium during peak periods. It is not uncommon to make reservations several months or more in advance of a given date.

You'll need to plan food and beverages, and activities and entertainment and, in some cases, transportation to the picnic site.

Allow enough time so you can give your employees sufficient advance notice to include the picnic into their plans. This is especially important if you'll be inviting family members or if it is held on a weekend.

Company picnics and company picnic ideas can range from the very simple to a pull-out-all-stops extravaganza. My observation is that people have a good time at both.

Do you want to have a theme? A theme is fun! Plus it makes it easier to organize food and activities.

WHEN do you want to hold you company's picnic?

Here, in the Philadelphia area, companies hold their picnics beginning in June through early October.

Considerations such as your company's workflow, availability of a desired venue, etc., will help you determine the date. Employees are less apt to be away on vacation in June or September, but they will really enjoy the chance to kick back in July or August.

There are pros and cons to weekday picnics versus weekend picnics.

Company picnics held during a workday will ensure a greater attendance for employees when they would normally be in the office. And, they don't cut into precious personal time.

But spouses and children are generally more available for a weekend date.

WHOM do you want to invite?

Staff only? Members of the employee's immediate family? What about significant others, friends? Decide where to draw the line.

Family picnics are a great way for employees to meet co-workers' families. It humanizes co-workers by allowing them to relax their at-work personas.

On the other hand, single or divorced employees can feel like the odd wheel at a very family oriented event. That can be overcome by planning activities suitable for people of all ages.

Activities that require participants to form groups can help integrate the attendees. And it keeps your guests occupied.

WHERE do you want to have your company picnic?

While many picnics take place under a tent in the company's parking lot, offsite venues can make people feel more relaxed. If you're on a strict budget, one option is a nearby state park. Many have large pavilions ideally suited for such events.

I've also been to company picnics given at the home of the firm's CEO or owner. This kind of setting adds a homey touch to the festivities. In some instances, facilities were set up so that the guests attend to their needs without entering the host's private home.

An excellent option to consider is a venue that is set up especially for hosting the company picnic. Generally these picnic parks come complete with in-house catering and lots of games and activities for kids both big and small. Some day camps rent out their facilities on weekends when they are otherwise not in use.

Amusement parks and river cruises are other options.

Tip: Have a Plan B in the case of rain.

Some Plan B options include:
o A tent with walls or access to an on-site building
o Event insurance
o A rain date

Keep in mind that if you opt for a rain date, your vendors and entertainers may require additional payment to reserve the second date. That is because they have to turn down other clients during the busy summer season to keep that time open for you.

Food and Beverages

If you choose to have the food catered, you don't have to worry about preparation or cleanup. Many venues such as picnic parks have in-house catering. And many caterers specialize in handling company picnics.

The best part of picnic fare is that it is simple and satisfying. Hot dogs and hamburgers are extremely popular at picnics. But they are not compulsory and caterers will cater to your every whim.

Keep the menu flexible enough to accommodate those with special needs and preferences. These days you'll find many meat eaters and vegans, not to mention devotees of Atkins, South Beach, and other diets. Muslims and Jews may not wish to eat pork.

So having at least one non-pork and non-meat option is an excellent idea. If your picnic has a theme, your menu can reflect that.

Decide whether you want to permit alcoholic beverages. If so, make sure there is a way to ensure that anyone who drinks a bit too much makes it home safely.

Have age appropriate activities and games

Some venues such as picnic parks make it a point to supply many activities. Nonetheless, you may want to supplement them. Entertainers such as DJs, caricature artists, Tarot card readers, magicians, face painters, clowns are some popular additions.

Door prizes are a cherished company picnic idea at many firms. Door prizes work both as employee appreciation and an incentive for the employees to linger.

Examples of some prizes I've seen include certificate good for a dinner for two at a local restaurant, gift certificate at a local department store, a day off with pay, even a free vacation complete with round trip airline tickets.

These are some company picnic ideas and planning tips to get you started.

But the most important tip is the one I save for last. After you've worked so hard to organize and plan your event, be sure to go and enjoy the festivities yourself!

6 Very Powerful Flirting and Sexual Attraction Body Language Signals

In the game of sexual attraction what you say isn't as nearly important as what your body says. In fact if you are so good at silent speech, you can say so much more with your body than words can ever do for you.

Here's how it's done.

1. Triangulating Eye Contact

First you need to draw attention to yourself. That can be achieved with fiddling with the collar, necklace or earring, or flicking dust from your sleeve or shoulder, just to name a few. After you catch his or her attention, hold his or her gaze for about 3 seconds, break eye contact downwards to take in the nose, lips and chin.

Triangulating eye-contact communicates the desire to know the other person more intimately (and I am not talking about "sex" people!). Keep in mind that while men generally do not mind prolonged eye contact with a strange woman (in fact they crave it especially if she's drop dead gorgeous), women on the other hand tend to be rather irritated by prolonged stares of unknown men (even great looking ones).

Also beware of cultural differences.

2. Eyebrow Flash

Eye contact with an eyebrow flash followed by a smile has an even more powerful effect.

Make eye contact, hold his or her gaze for about 3 seconds and break eye contact downwards (very briefly). As you look up again, take note of the chin, lips, nose and work your way up to the eyes. Add in the eyebrow flash and smile.

The message you want to send is "I was only being polite at first...but now that I've taken a good look....OH-WOW!"

Shy people can do this one so much better than the more aggressive type because subtlety and modesty comes to shy men and women naturally.

3. Eye Catching

Once you have his or her attention and conversation is flowing, use your fingers to draw attention to your eyes and to keep his or her gaze focused on you - and you alone. This is especially important when the exchange is taking place in cramped or crowded conditions.

Subtly touch your nose or gently rub your cheek making sure your index finger touches the area around the outer corner of your eye; your other fingers pointing on touching the mouth area. This says, "See, we're having a conversation here". To create maximum rapport be sure to hold eye contact when the other person is talking, then as his or her gaze begins to wander, bring it back by directing his or her eyes to your eyes and mouth area.

Another thing you can do is hold your face in both hands with the chin resting on your palms and elbows on the table. Gently stroke the area around the outer corners of both eyes with you index or middle finger; the other fingers slightly spread out in a semi-circle around your face. This gives the illusion of a whisper or secret being shared. Very intimate!

And if you wear glasses, slowly take them off, rub your eyes very briefly and put the glasses back on. But please, make sure it's not so obvious. And don't poke your eyes red because the apple of your eye has his or her attention drawn to the dude or chic the other side of the room. You have to make the conversation interesting as well, not just trying desperately to mechanically hold his or her gaze.

4. Sideways Glance

This is best achieved when walking away or when sitting with your back turned towards the person you want to be drawn towards you. Slowly look back with partially closed eyelids but drop the gaze the moment after it has been noticed. This gaze drop should be very brief. Look up triangulating your eye contact starting with the chin, lips, nose and working your way up to the eyes. Smile.

Moistening the lips at the same time you drop the gaze increases sexual tension.

For women, the sideways glance combined with a hair toss and parted lips can be very powerful. For men, this with the eyebrow flash is devastating! But you need a little bit of male-confidence not to appear creepy.

5. The Leg Cross (women only)

Entwined legs draw attention to body poise and give the impression of high muscle tone. Crossing and uncrossing legs while being watched by an interested male is a strong attraction signal, especially when you simultaneously hold eye contact, tilt your head sideways and stroke or rub a knee.

The catch here is that the type of men you are most likely to attract with this move are horny men - yeah, the hit-and-run type! So unless you really know the guy and have his stats checked out, keep both your feet on the ground - and together.

And if you're a couple or even married, these body language moves can work wonders for your sexual chemistry. And when combined with prolonged eye contact and fondling cylindrical object like the stem of a wine glass, straw, pen, pencil or cigarette... Aiyaiyaiyiayai! Houston, We Have a Problem".

6. The Cowboy Hook (men only)

This "I am all man!" dominant stance calls for extra male confidence to pull it off. Works with thumbs tucked in the belt and the other fingers resting on the sides of the thighs framing the groin area (did I say this calls for extra male confidence!).

You can also achieve the same effect (or close) leaning on a door post or wall with one hand, the other hand inside the pocket, thumb sticking out and pointing towards you-know-where.

Any hand gesture that draws attention to the groin area shows great sexual and social confidence. A lot depends on whether the woman in question approves of a cave-man approach.

Will any one of these eye and body communication gestures net you the man or woman of your dreams?

Not necessarily. Personally, I do not believe that mechanical body language gestures however effortless and flawless can do anything for you other than boost your confidence and get the sexual energy flowing in your body. At the end of the day, its the confident vibes coming from you that start the sexual attraction. Body language can only get the already existing sexual chemistry going. If you can use body language to cause a chain reaction, you're half way there!

And just as it takes effort and practice to be fluent in any language, you need practice to become fluent in body language. You can practice in front of a mirror or with the help of a supportive friend. You'll see that as you become more fluent in your flirting and sexual attraction body language, your confidence in yourself as a sexually attractive man or woman increases too.

Don't take yourself too seriously. The goal is not to become a body language expert but to become sexually confident with the opposite sex. So just have fun with your sexual being. Its yours to enjoy!

You can also use this knowledge to judge whether someone is flirting with you, interested in you and attracted in you. You can also use this knowledge to tell if someone is flirting with you, interested in you and attracted to you. Keep in mind, body language is no exact science.

How to Plan a Wedding - Step by Step Guide

Planning a wedding can be a daunting and very stressful task. We highly recommend you take six months to a year to plan your wedding and will outline for you an easy-to-follow schedule.

Twelve months before the Wedding

Get yourself a binder with paper and dividing tabs.
Discuss with your fiancé and his/her families, plus your own, to determine a budget.
Decide on your wedding theme e.g. Christmas, Fall, Snowflakes, Black and White, etc.
Select a wedding date with your fiancé and families.
Decide on your wedding attendants.
Book a ceremony and reception location(s).
Book your professional wedding photographer, florist, caterer, videographer, and DJ or wedding musicians.

Nine months before the Wedding

Make an appointment with your officiant. For most religious ceremonies, you may be required to attend pre-wedding counseling. For civil ceremonies, your officiant may require a meeting to discuss your wedding ceremony.
Wedding gown shopping and first fittings should be looked after at this time.
Shop for your wedding accessories, wedding veil or head piece, and wedding shoes.
Begin preparation of the guest list. Be sure to include both sides of the family as guest lists are often a contentious issue. It will take time to decide on long lost cousins, work friends, neighbors, etc.
Decide on gift registry locations and register.
Begin your search for your honeymoon location. If you are getting married during a peak holiday season such as Christmas, you may need to book your honeymoon up to nine months in advance.

Six months before the Wedding

You need to meet with the wedding professionals who will assist you on your special day. The menu should be mapped out with your catering company, a review of requested wedding photos with your photographer, a discussion with your videographer on the amount of footage and locations for videos, and your preference for music with your DJ or wedding musicians.
Limousines and/or other wedding transportation should be booked. Wedding carriages or winter horse drawn sleighs should be booked and pricing confirmed.
If you are ordering wedding invitations and/or save the date cards and wedding announcements, you need to decide on a provider. If you are making your own wedding invitations and other wedding stationery, you should choose a wedding invitation kit template package. Announcements should be sent out to those friends and family who you have not included in the ceremony.
Honeymoon trip should be booked and final budget plans for the honeymoon confirmed.
Bridesmaids and Flower Girl dresses should be decided upon and ordered.
Start shopping for wedding rings.

Three months before the Wedding

Guest list needs to be finalized by you and your fiancé and BOTH families. We can't emphasize enough that you need to have the blessing of all concerned when it comes to the guest list.
Final decisions and ordering of wedding rings.
Visit hairstylist for a consultation and have your first wedding day hair run through.
Make wedding day appointment with hairstylist. Don't forget to include your bridesmaids if they are having their hair professionally styled for your wedding.
Research and review state requirements for blood tests.
Research, review and book hotel rooms for out of town guests who may require accommodation.
Follow up on your wedding gown and confirmation of delivery dates for your gown and those of your attendants.
Attend your first wedding gown fitting including all accessories and shoes.

Six to eight weeks before the Wedding

Prepare your wedding invitation kit templates for printing, including the Thank You cards.
If you have ordered your invites from a commercial business, be sure they are ready for you.
Address and mail the wedding invitations.
Shop for and purchase any wedding gifts for your fiancé, attendants, parents and grandparents.
Attend your final dress fitting including wedding accessories.
Spend time wearing your wedding shoes so that you are not crippled before the wedding dance starts.
Test a spray on tan if you plan to tan for your wedding.
Make final decisions on your wedding hair style and any hair color changes should be made.
Pick up your wedding rings from your jewelry shop.
Print out your personalized Thank you cards from your wedding invitation kit templates or purchase generic Thank you cards.
Send any Thank you cards for wedding or shower gifts received over the past weeks.

10 - 14 Days before the Wedding

Confirm with your caterer with one final review of the menu.
Confirm with your officiant the venue and time of ceremony.
Confirm with your photographer, videographer, DJ and/or wedding band.
Confirm your honeymoon reservation and any special requests for the wedding night.
Address any wedding announcements, stamp and set in preparation of mailing on your wedding day.
Final visit to your hairstylist to review any last minute concerns or changes.

One Week before the Wedding

Attend any last minute parties or bridal showers in your honor.
Write any Thank you cards for gifts received at these functions.
Give the caterer your final number of guests expected to attend.
Bridesmaids and Flower Girl confirmation of the time they are expected to arrive.
Purchase travel insurance for the honeymoon if you are leaving the country.
Purchase travelers checks for the honeymoon holiday.
Double check to be sure that travelers checks are accepted and easily cashed at your final destination.
