Wedding Favors With Sweet Sayings

The question is often asked by couples when choosing wedding favors, "what kind of quote or saying should we attach to the favor?"

With so many themed favors to choose from today the sweet sayings with a built-in symbolism are being used more and more. For example, by now you've definitely heard about and maybe have even seen the popular wedding favor "Perfect Pear," the favors are either two pear-shaped candles or two silver pear-shaped salt and pepper shakers.

If you want to avoid using a wedding favor every other couple is using then you may want to consider expanding on the popular ones to come up with your own creation.
Instead of pear-shaped favors think of other things that usually come in pairs.
Monogrammed pillowcases can be given as gifts with a sweet note such as: "Meant to be Together Forever" or you can take a set of salt and pepper shakers and paint a picture of a thong on each one. There you have the "perfect pair." This idea works great for a beach- themed wedding.

For heart shaped tins, candies, or other heart-shaped sentiments you can add the personal note: "Our Heart-Felt Thanks for Sharing our Special Day with Us" or "Thank You From The Bottom of our Hearts," "A Hearty Thank You to All Who Shared This Day."

Another idea might be to get small bottles of wedding bubbles and attach a Hershey Rosebud favor with a tag that says, "Blowing Kisses."

With any kind of a candle favor you might say, "The Light of our Love will Always Burn Bright" or "Our Love Shines Like an Eternal Flame."

If you are doing sweet edibles as a wedding favor which can include any type of your favorite candies or chocolates, you might say," When These Treats You Eat, Remember Our Love So Sweet" or "The True Flavor of our Love."

For a spring or summer garden wedding you can do monogrammed gloves with a note that says, "The Perfect Fit" or customized flower seed packs with a note saying, "Plant These Seeds and Watch Our Love Blossom and Grow" "Love In Bloom" or " Help us Plant These Seeds of Love" Your guests will reminisce about your wedding day whenever they don their gloves to tend their flower garden.

Following are a few more examples of sayings that can be attached to wedding favors:

Help our love grow together (use with plants or flowers)

Celebrate our blossoming love (for flowers or Hershey rosebuds)

These are just a few ideas to help you get started. Try to come up with some of your own sweet words. Close your eyes and imagine what you want your wedding day to look like, feel like, and sound like. Think about the love of your life and all of those who will come and celebrate with you. Now start writing down some phrases that come to mind. You might be pleasantly surprised at what you come up with on your own.

There's nothing like putting some stress on the shooter in cold conditions to test his combat shooting skills. Come on along for another Nutnfancy "Armed Serenity" shootout with the crew, now an annual event! It took me weeks of planning and logistical prep but it was worth it. Engagements were diverse and entertaining but all were timed, scored, and RAN so as to add stress and elevate heart rate. None were easy. Tactical Instructor "SadlyMissing" provided excellent shooting tips before the fun kicked off. Drills consisted of urban combat window engagements from "The Scrambler" building simulator, a running 100 to 7 yard tactical carbine course of fire (with oblique bad guys) which transitioned to a 6 rd failure drill with pistol, an uphill, running 200 yard steel plate engagement, and night time operations with .22 AR-15s on 25 to 75 yard steel plates. Hanging Earring Card Tip

I order quite a few business cards for many uses other than just getting my name out there. I have cards to inform my customers of how to care for their silver jewelry; to tell my story of how I started my jewelry company, and to make price tags and earrings cards. I also use these cards to display my earrings.

I designed a business card divided in half with my logo on each side and a light line to indicate where I should cut the card in half. I also added 2 light dots on each side about half an inch to an inch (depending on your logo size) below my logo to indicate where to punch holes for the earrings.

You should download design template/guides from the Vistaprint website or any website that offers inexpensive business card printing. They have specific rules for what kind of file they use and also on the templates They have an indication where the image is going to be cropped which is very important. I used Photoshop with my logo because that's what I am used to, but most printing sites use.jpg, images.

I uploaded my picture onto the Vistaprint site. with the text and the score marks for cutting and punching (that isn't free, but it's only a few dollars), and got them printed. I went on Ringsandthings.com and bought a bag of adhesive clear plastic hangers for the back.

When I got my cards I cut them in half on the mark, poked the holes with an awl and stuck on the plastic hangers on the back which go well with my rotating earring display from valuedisplay.com. When I stick on the adhesive hangers I make sure the top is straight and just a wee bit lower than the top edge of the earring card as not to show the plastic hanger on the back.

I modify them a bit for some earrings such as leverbacks. I just trim the bottom a bit or the earrings that are just chain (threader) earrings, I put two holes top and bottom then thread the chain back in again so it will stay put. I also put a sharkskin tag with pricing and item number on the back on top of the clear hangtag for easier removal. If it's on the bare paper, it will pull off part of the card.

I think the earring cards total might have cost me $15 for 250. not including the display which only cost about $25. These cards may also work on other rack displays and even some displays like recycled, painted shutters.

Spot Lights and Pendant Lights for Art Galleries

As a budding and yet to be discovered artist of the 21st century, I'm always on the look out for galleries that will house my fine works of art for a reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable housing fee. One of the qualifications that I always look for is whether the gallery has proper lighting. Without the right kind of lighting, patrons wouldn't be able to fully appreciate my works and understand how much blood, sweat and tears I put into each piece.

But back to what I was talking about earlier; lighting is imperative in show casing my works. With that said, I look for galleries that include spot lights and perhaps even some directional pendant lighting. Spot lights are especially important and I'm not talking about the really big ones they use in Hollywood, I'm talking about the ones that use the small LED bulbs or even compact fluorescent bulbs. The spot lights have to be placed at least six inches away from the wall so that they properly light up my work. The six inches will ensure that the patrons will be able to view the finer details in my work without the light burning any holes through them.

Directional pendant lights are superb for lighting up sculptural pieces and installation art and can work just as well if not better than spot lights depending on the scenario. For instance, if an artist decides to showcase an installation art piece in the middle of a gallery, spot lights alongside the walls probably won't be able to illuminate it, unless the gallery has spot lights installed along the middle of the ceiling. Pendant lights with adjustable directional fixtures will easily solve this dilemma, especially if track pendant lighting is used.

When you work as a professional artist, your work is always being scrutinized, top to bottom. Without the proper lighting, you run the risk of getting a bad review (I speak from experience). But as long as you find a gallery that includes all the essentials you require, then every patron will be able to see all the blood, sweat and tears that you've put into your work (or is that just me).

The song is "Shadows of the Night" by Pat Benatar. In case you were wondering, yes I had to lip-synch (chromakey and animate) almost all of the mouth movements, as well as Saturn's flowing hair at the very beginning. On a couple of occasions, I would have to output a clip to a series of stills and paint out her mouth - quite tedious. In some cases, I put in teeth where none had been drawn before. Speaking of Saturn at the beginning, that sequence was built with a separate layer for the star field, background purple glow, hair, shoulders and neck, face, eyes, bangs, and mouth. I also had to mirror her left earring from her right, since the source picture had hair over her left ear. I put lens flares on a few of the clips, and often chained separate clips to make a contiguous shot (like Hotaru having her mind probed by Saturn).
